CLAM Disk & Faucet Kit
This Kit comes with any selection of a CLAM Disk, tubing and a drinking water faucet fitting and hose adapter. This kit makes it easy to extract pressurized water systems through CLAM Disks from a standard faucet or standard hose outlet connections. This Kit can be used with the optional External Volume Totalizer, or the extracted volume can be determined empirically by collecting and measure the discharge water collected in a container.
When used on a sink faucet, the aerator screen is first removed from the faucet and the diverter valve is connected in its place. The water is diverted through the 1/8 tubing by closing the diverter valve.
The water flow is adjusted to between 100-200 ml/min using the cold water facuet valve, by collecting the flowing water in the 100 ml syring provided . Set the flow rate under 200 ml/min rate. The water passing through the Disk will collected into a collection vessel. If large volumes are to be extracted a large container such as a plastic storage bin can be used. The water volume that passes through the disk and into the container needs to be measure by weighing (1 gram water = 1 ml) or volumetrically measured. This system can extract up to 100 liters of water over a given time period dependent on flow rate. The use of the Totalizer Kit can be used to replace the empirical container collection method.
